The article speaks for itself. I highly recommend the site as a source about the political right in Michigan. I cannot support all it says, but it is an excellent site for its agenda, and will help you understand the movement.

The Republican Party is no longer a big tent, as at one point the article intimates. The differences of the various categories of persons in it make it impossible to keep every one in, when the far right actively demoralizes and pushes out anyone who does not fit their rigid definition of conservatism. It they were to study conservatism, they would learn they are the ones who are tearing conservatism to shreds, and casting out the loyal Republicans. They need their own party,because they are taking the Republican Party apart. Read The Death of Conservatism.
